Working with you
We are aware of the curriculum requirements for swimming across the key stages and work with you to ensure children can meet their goals and more. We notice that swimming can be a valuable way to engage with children who struggle in the classroom, or for whom track and field sports are difficult. Our gentle, sensitive and fun approach helps children grow in self-esteem and transfers to development outside the pool too.
Ages and stages
At pre-school level, our fun, interactive sessions are filled with games, music and sensory learning, to promote water confidence and enjoyment. As they progress, we introduce elements of water safety and start to introduce stroke technique.
Technique, safety and enjoyment are the basis for primary lessons too. We aim to get Key Stage 2 children swimming a confident, smooth 25 metres to meet their criteria, rather than a length of frantic panicky doggy paddle. We also run lifesaving classes for little ones.
At secondary level, we work with all ages, including GCSE students, to gain the best possible swimming grade. We support Duke of Edinburgh students to complete physical activity sections. We can also run your school swimming gala or similar event.
At college and university level, we work with trainee PE teachers and those who wish to become swimming teachers or lifeguards to gain their qualifications. We run specialist days for Swim Societies, as well as access to Masters level training for swimmers aged 18+ who wish to keep progressing with their swimming.
